Exclusive: Step Back In Time With This Dreamy Bridgerton Wedding

And what gets us more excited than Bridgerton weddings? While we may not be born into royalty, the show’s romance and wedding celebrations still have a way of captivating us. In fact, Nicola Coughlan’s iconic bridal gown at the season three premiere hinted that we’d be treated to even more nuptials in future seasons.

Fast forward to when Royal Swans Events received an inquiry from a couple seeking an ethereal aesthetic for their love story – they wanted a Bridgerton-themed wedding that would transport them back to the Regency era. Nguyen Thi My Dung, the mastermind behind this bespoke event, knew exactly how to bring this vision to life. According to Dung, the couple, Hoang and Phu, desired a royal garden theme with classic design elements that exuded timeless elegance.

Royal Swans Events went above and beyond to create an original concept inspired by Bridgerton’s opulent weddings. To replicate this grandiose affair indoors proved to be quite the challenge. I had the pleasure of speaking with Dung about his ingenious strategy for transforming the venue into a Royale Garden – a true masterpiece.

The Wedding Reception

In creating the wedding concept, Royal Swans’ team had the opportunity to craft an elegant atmosphere by combining refined stationery and sturdy furniture pieces. To infuse a sense of nostalgia and romance, they drew inspiration from traditional paper notes, reminiscent of the Bridgerton era.

To greet guests as they entered the hallway, the team employed a clever combination of elements, including well-manicured shrubs infused with white roses, rows of cypress trees to evoke the chateau driveway, and a classic-designed banner adorned with dangling tassels. Personalized notes from guests were displayed on moss boards, while a lucky money box took the shape of a neoclassical-inspired vase.

The backdrop for the photo area featured a modern gazebo situated at the end of the hallway, surrounded by an abundance of flowers both in front and behind. The gazebo itself was constructed using sheer panel adorned with a Neoclassic pattern. To further enhance the space, the team set up a printed wall featuring a hand-drawn painting of a driveway, seamlessly extending the area.

The Aisle

As the bride walked down the aisle, the grand setup was designed to leave guests in awe, transforming the space into a true Bridgerton ball. The wedding planner explains that there was no such thing as too many ornate objects or too many roses, with an abundance of flowers contributing to a romantic atmosphere. The aisle was flanked by well-trimmed shrubs arranged in maze shape, topped with crystal chandeliers spaced evenly apart and adorned with sheer panels to create layers of depth.

The stage area, where the ceremony took place, was designed to emphasize the difference between the welcome and ballroom moods. A predominance of pink over green was used to achieve this effect, while cypress trees in various sizes were incorporated to repeat the garden theme, leaving a central space for the logo. The sheer panels were intentionally designed to be larger and layered to evoke the atmosphere of standing in a grand ballroom with a high ceiling.

The wedding cake table was also designed to tie in seamlessly with the overall Bridgerton theme concept, using similar elements and materials to create a cohesive look. In Hoang & Phu’s regal celebration, the couple placed full trust in the creation process, allowing their wedding planner to propose design ideas that would work best for them.

The result was a sophisticated and dedicated vibe that fell into place effortlessly, with even modern touches such as pinkest sheer panels working surprisingly well alongside classic green royal garden elements. According to rising trends in fashion and interior design, Dung predicts that the wedding scene in 2025 will move in exciting directions, including monotone and mono-flower themes, fine art, and dramatic sculptured designs adding a touch of sophistication.

Art Nouveau, which started gaining popularity at the beginning of 2024, is expected to continue its trend in 2025, with stripes and checkered patterns in vibrant colors also becoming popular. Furthermore, silver elements will bring a sleek, elegant, and fashionable aesthetic to wedding ceremonies.
