Anna’s passion for art started at a young age, spending hours painting with gouache and watercolors as a child. Despite her parents’ urging her to pursue a more traditional career, Anna continued to nurture her creative side, eventually earning a Master’s degree in Automation and Engineering while still holding onto her artistic dreams. She found solace in painting, which became a means of expressing herself and relieving stress. Anna’s love for watercolor painting grew stronger with time, leading her to create her online course, Get Started with Watercolor, as a way to share her knowledge and skills with others. She wanted to provide a comprehensive guide that would help beginners learn modern watercolor painting effectively, without the fluff often found in other courses.Anna emphasizes that no prior experience is necessary to take the course, which is designed for complete beginners. The course consists of a theory block and practicing module, featuring exercises and worksheets to help students master the basics of color mixing, brush strokes, and more. Anna also includes a detailed section on supplies, so students know exactly what they need to get started. While some artistic ability is helpful when it comes to watercolor painting, Anna believes that anyone can learn with practice and patience. She provides sketches for each practicing project, allowing students to focus on the painting process rather than worrying about drawing skills. As for the necessary supplies, Anna advises investing in professional-grade materials, such as paints, paper, and brushes, but also notes that some supplies can be substituted or saved money on. The course includes a comprehensive supply list to help students get started. When asked if the course would include tutorials on creating the beautiful watercolor paintings featured on her Instagram account, Anna mentions that while some of those pieces will be covered in the course, she has kept exclusivity and not shared all content on social media. Her course represents her personal style of painting, which is reflective of the beautiful works seen on her Instagram feed.Anna also dispels the notion that one needs to be a ‘creative person’ to learn watercolor painting. She believes that anyone can develop their skills with practice and patience, regardless of their creative background. With this course, Anna aims to provide a fun and engaging learning experience for beginners, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the process and practicing regularly.
