Alin And Hinds Extravagant Melbourne Wedding
As fate would have it, Alin and Hind’s love story began at a wedding. After 18 months together, Alin knew she had found her perfect match. In 2019, Alin took the next step by proposing to Hind in the City of Love, Paris. However, their wedding day was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances – or should we say, Covid-19? Two years later, they finally exchanged vows and celebrated their love.
As one of Australia’s leading wedding dress designers, Alin had a unique opportunity to design his own bride’s wedding dresses. We caught up with him to learn more about this experience and what made it truly special.
What was the most memorable moment of your Wedding Day?
As we finally set foot in the Wedding reception, styled by the talented Diane Khoury Weddings & Events, it was as if all our expectations had been surpassed. We had placed immense trust in Diane’s vision and creativity that we deliberately chose not to preview any of her work until the very last moment. The anticipation was palpable as she led us into the venue with our eyes closed, and then, like a curtain lift, we were hit with the sheer wonderment of what she had achieved.
Our once ordinary space had been transformed into an enchanting Wonderland, a true testament to Diane’s exceptional skill.
As a designer, what was it like designing your Bride’s wedding dresses?
As I envisioned Hind’s ceremony attire, I desired to create two distinct gowns that not only showcased my design expertise but also paid tribute to my beautiful wife. The first gown was a masterpiece of beading, featuring Swarovski crystals and pearls intricately arranged on the bodice and tulle ruffles, carefully angled to elongate her figure. This haute couture piece required an astonishing 1800 hours of hand-sewn beading and consumed a staggering 200,000 pearls and crystals.
Hind’s second gown took a different direction, embracing traditional elegance with a nude ball gown accented by white and silver beading in a 3D technique featuring stop-beading with white beads and sequins. A vine-like pattern unfolded from the bodice to the hem, adding an extra layer of sophistication.
What was the most unique part of your Wedding?
What truly made our wedding stand out was the harmonious fusion between the reception’s design and our chosen theme. And let’s not forget Hind’s stunning dress! As we shared inspiration images with Diane, we deliberately crafted a unique brief that deviated from the norm in Melbourne, showcasing our unconventional approach to wedding planning.
