A Look Back At Arab Fashion Week 2017
The November Arab Fashion Week has gotten underway, featuring over 50 local and international designers showcasing their work. This bi-annual event, which first started in April 2015, has already established itself as a premier platform for fashion powerhouses to tap into the Middle Eastern and Asian markets.
A unique aspect of this event is its focus on promoting ‘Ready-Couture’ and Pre-Collections, aimed at reducing mass production and re-establishing a more personal connection between designers and clients.
The latest installment kicked off with Lebanese designer Saher Dia, followed by a diverse range of fashion talent, including Aiisha Ramadan, Mua Mua Dolls, Tony Ward, Kartikeya, Phuong My, Christophe Guillarmé, Minaz, Mario Orfei, David Tlale, Renato Balestra Marketa Hakkinen, Vadim Spatari, and Elsi Couture.
As the event comes to a close, let’s take a look back at AFW’s Ready Couture & Resort 2018 Collection in May 2017, which featured notable designers like Marchesa, Renato Balestra, Michael Cinco, Rad Hourani, Abdo Aoudi, and more.
