A Kindergarten Proposal Followed By An Elaborate Wedding

Angela and Joseph’s love story began in kindergarten, a humble start that would blossom into an extraordinary romance 18 years later. The same classroom where they first met would also witness the proposal, a poignant full circle moment. The couple’s journey took an unexpected turn during their high school years, as they lost contact only to reconnect through chance encounters before Joseph proposed to Angela in that very kindergarten classroom, bringing closure and new beginnings.

The Proposal

The Proposal

As we prepared for lunch at Mr Wong’s in the city, Joseph concocted a sophisticated plan involving a harmless fabrication about collecting props for my sister’s upcoming movie-themed 21st birthday celebration. The day prior, I overheard my mum mentioning that she needed to visit Kemps Creek Public School to collect their iconic red curtains, which used to adorn the school hall.

On the morning of the proposal, my mum pretended to have forgotten an eye appointment and asked Joseph and me to drop by on our way to the city. Given my prior knowledge of this errand, I didn’t think twice about it. However, as we entered the school, we were greeted by our former kindergarten teacher, Mrs Hansell, who still works at the institution. She revealed that the curtains were actually stored in a bag in our old classroom.

Upon entering the room, we found it transformed into an intimate setting complete with candles, roses, and nostalgic photographs from throughout our years together. The pièce de résistance was the ‘Will you Marry Me?’ scrawled on the whiteboard. Joseph had also arranged for Elisa Romeo Photography to capture this special moment.

The Best Moments

As Angela’s kindergarten class beamed with excitement, they witnessed their teacher transform into Mrs. Carbone at the church. The kids’ adorable antics stole the show, despite their concerns about watching their teacher share a romantic kiss. Meanwhile, Angela had her own unexpected moment – she accidentally sprayed confetti at family members, unaware of the mishap until months later when around 10 people shared their stories of bruised faces.

Amidst the joyful chaos, someone inadvertently stepped on Angela’s toe during the final song of the night. As medical staff rushed to bandage the bleeding, Angela mustered the strength to stand up and notice that her dad had changed the song to ‘Forever Now’ by Michael Bublé. Through tears and pain, she recalled telling her father, ‘I’m in a lot of pain, but this song is making me cry – I love you, Dad.’ As the crowd around them wept openly, Angela remembered the bittersweet moment.

The Most Unique Aspect

The evening’s energy was electric as the dance floor transformed into a vibrant mosh pit, courtesy of Orget Sadiku’s infectious saxophone beats. The bride, Angela, recalled that the party got underway the moment they arrived, with guests enthusiastically dancing throughout the night. Without Orget’s soulful sounds, it’s likely that our dance floor would have remained a mystery, but thanks to his talent, we can confidently say that it was a sea of movement and joy.

As the wedding planning unfolded, I had to learn to relax and trust that the small details wouldn’t overshadow the importance of the celebration. And in hindsight, it’s clear that my best friend and I sharing our vows surrounded by loved ones was what truly mattered. A minor error on the seating chart wasn’t enough to detract from the joy and love that filled the room. Angela, Bride Scroll down for a stunning visual account of this special day!
